Question: Should a person apologize, if in good faith, they do not agree they did something wrong?

From our point of view, if in good faith, a person is being asked to apologize and does not feel they have done anything "wrong", then no. A person should not apologize. They of course should show courtesy, respect and say something like, "Ok. I understand. I'm sorry you feel that way. You might be right. Let's change the topic." Such an approach deescalates the point of contention and might allow for a non-harmful topic change or exit from the situation.
Now, some people may claim that not apologizing is egotism. They might be right. We see at not engaging in people pleasing behavior. People pleasing can lead to resentments. Resentments often lead to relapse.
