Everything will be OK, so long as we don't define OK. 😊
This means for our own peace of mind, we need to let go of our "expectations" and learn to accept what is vs what we "want" or expect a person, place or thing to be. In acceptance of a situation exactly as it is, we can be "ok" discover we have the freedom to choose how we respond. That's empowering. We can choose to not drink about it. We can choose take positive action toward an outcome we want. For example. A parking ticket for $50.00 is not the end of the world. We can accept it. We can fight it in court if we want. We can just pay it and try to park in designated areas and feed the meter sufficiently in the future. Or, one could choose to drink AT it, and spend more than $50 in booze, maybe get a DUI, maybe wind up in jail, maybe dead, and still owe the $50 for the parking ticket. Sobriety is learning emotional regulation and appropriate responses to life's endless opportunities of choice. In short, everything will be OK, so long as we don't define Ok. 😊
